We made lemon bars. Sort of. I got it in my head that a lemon bar made with the vegan and gluten free crust I used in my apple tart would be amazing. So, I found this lemon bar recipe and we made it with this crust recipe. In hindsight, that wasn’t the best choice. LOL.
Don’t get me wrong, the lemon bars were good, and people ate them without complaint, but the taste I imagined did not exist. I should have just made the crust as directed in the original recipe. Also, I think the lemon bars needed more lemon flavor- maybe my lemons were too small… I’m not going to post my recipe, because one should not make it (dessert should be great, not just OK…). Just make the recipe on allrecipies.com, and be sure to use at least 1/2 a cup of lemon juice!
