I almost forgot to post today!
Life has been busy, but Kiddo and I still find time to cook. We recently made meatballs, which I may post next week. Today’s post is less about the food and more about the experience. A few weeks ago a realized that Kiddo knows how to us a mixer, a whisk, a and a sifter, but she had never made her own peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
We are big fans of the pb & j, and since Kiddo likes it so much I wanted to teach her how to make it. She really loved being the one to cut the bread, spread the condiments and put the two pieces of bread together. I need to remember to let her help with more things like this, because she is capable. Kiddo has made three pb & j sandwiches now.
It doesn’t take much longer to let her put the sandwich together and it teaches her that she has agency and that I trust her.
What things do you let your Kiddo’s do for themselves?
